Baillee Serbin's career has included twenty-five years in human resources management, people
development, organizational development and consulting, management training, executive
coaching, change cycles, board governance, mediation and counseling. She has devoted her
energy and feels equally comfortable with not for profit organizations as well as the for profit
sector. Baillee has her own consulting business: Serbin Associates, where she has led 18
consultants and worked with the Department of Children Youth and Their Families [DCYF],
consulting with 48 community based organizations [CBOs], plus providing 20 full day leadership
trainings for the 200 grantee organizations of DCYF. She had served five plus years leading
The Management Center’s Nonprofit Human Resources Consulting Practice as the Director. She
has an appointment as Adjunct Faculty with USF in the Master’s Program of Nonprofit
Management and Administration. Baillee also has participated and received a Negotiation
Certificate from Harvard Law School.
She formed her own consulting company in the Bay Area in December 2002 and has worked
with over 2000 nonprofits in that time. In the past she has been a Director of Human
Resources for several large for profit companies. Her education background includes a Masters
Degree in Counseling, a post Masters degree in Counseling and a Ph.D. [all but dissertation] in
Curriculum and Supervision.
Her major interest is in social responsibility, and planetary sustainability, unity, where the
emphasis is directed towards fiscal responsibility, and attention and energy is returned to the
community, where the focus is on fairness and respect for all people and the planet.
She has provided leadership to two multi million dollar corporations as Director of Human
Resources, where she designed and initiated the new Human Resources Department. She has
always directed specific attention towards the “healthy” organization: where all policies,
procedures, objectives, performance review systems, compensation, recruiting and orientations
are aligned with the mission and health of the staff and the organization.
Baillee has embraced and demonstrated cutting edge skills in the area of “Future Search”,
"Open Space” facilitation, "Change Management” Interventions, Recruiting, Policies and
Procedures, Customized Compensation Studies and Project Management in the non profit and
for profit sector.
Executive Coaching, Leadership Training/Development, Change Cycles, Board Governance and
Capacity Building are some of her specialties, which she feels are most important to the
success of any organization, and Baillee worked with over 2,000 community based
organizations and has designed, developed and delivered management trainings to over 5,000
leaders, including designing and producing ten trainings for use in Russia. She feels that the
key foundation of any successful consultancy is a preliminary needs-assessment conducted
with a segment of the client population.
Baillee has been a meditation practitioner and trainer for 30 years, and brings a highly intuitive,
responsible, and relaxed awareness to all situations, including high energy and highly charged
interactions.
