
Diane Foster has provided organizational coaching and consultation on leadership and change
for over twenty years to leaders in every industry. A leader of several organizations herself,
she has a reputation for achieving real success with her clients. Her strong background in
organization development and psychology, as well as a systems approach to organization and
individual development, problem solving and succession planning supports her clients to align
development issues with strategic business goals, and thereby maximize individual satisfaction
and business results. Schooled in neuroscience research, she has a fundamental deep belief in
the power of human potential and enjoys supporting her clients in finding theirs.
An advocate for communication, feedback, and emotional intelligence, she is a master
practitioner in executive and group coaching as well as assessment, Dialogue, and conflict
management. She has received many advanced degrees and training, including: her Masters in
Career Development from JFKU; graduate work at UC Berkeley’s School of Education, the San
Francisco Jung Institute, Tavistock Group Relations conferences, the Coaches Training
Institute, and Corporate Coach University’s Coaching Clinic. Other certifications for training,
coaching and giving feedback include: The Highlands Ability Feedback Program; The Center for
Creative Leadership; The Center for Application of Psychological Type; Interaction Associates;
Technology of Participation of the Institute of Cultural Affairs; Wilson Learning’s “Leadership

Interviewing.”
As an internal organization development specialist, she supported Advanced Micro Devices in
building career development, succession planning and intact team training while they were
downsizing. She was also the head of the Organization Effectiveness Team at CSAA for several
years. Most of her external consulting work turns into long term engagements. She has
coached senior executives and consulted to leaders on a variety of initiatives in such diverse
businesses as the Electric Power and Research Institute, Cost Plus World Market, The Mayo
Clinic, Genentech, the Kitchell Corporation, Roche Molecular Diagnostics, Wells Fargo Bank,
United Behavioral Health, the California Maritime Academy, U.S. Dept. of Labor and the Cities of
Oakland and San Francisco. She has taught in the organization development program at USF,
and is adjunct faculty for John F. Kennedy University.
Diane’s accomplishments include: supporting individual clients in building their capacity to
achieve their goals in top leadership roles and in building high performing work places;
supporting teams and organizations to implement succession planning programs and achieve
significant improvements in customer/stakeholder satisfaction, employee productivity and
morale, and improved business processes. With acknowledged expertise in leadership and
emotional intelligence she has designed and implemented corporate-wide programs for Fortune
50 companies to integrate performance management, career management and improved
corporate communication. Her Skill Kit for Leaders: Real Time Tools for Developing Leadership
Skills has been developed over 10 years of coaching and is used by many client organizations
as well as other coaches as a rich resource for leadership development support.
Her exceptional talent, personal enthusiasm and well-honed skills in working with a wide
variety of organizations and team leaders including executives, entrepreneurs, managers and
supervisors, is only further supported by her extensive training in facilitation, executive search,
and leadership. She is currently a member of The Bay Area and Sacramento Chapters of
Psychological Type, the International Career Development Association, the Professional
Coaches and Mentors Association and the International Coach Federation (ICF). She is a
certified Master Coach by the International Coaching Federation, has an MA in Career
Development, and is currently the Director of ICF Competency Development for the College of
Executive Coaching, and the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland.
