Maria Rue has lived and worked in the Bay Area since 2001. As a Consulting Director at Olive
Grove Consulting, LLC Maria works on a variety of projects including strategic planning,
industry research, organizational surveys, retreats, executive searches, and project
management. She also is responsible for developing infrastructure, managing business
operations, and shepherding special initiatives at Olive Grove. Maria has worked with Olive
Grove since 2007; other experience includes serving in the roles of Office Manager and
Research Associate at DHR International, one of the top-five executive search firms.
Maria has been active in the community since her youth, volunteering with Project Open Hand
and Refugee Transitions in San Francisco as well as senior living facilities in Minnesota. She
has also provided pro bono assistance to Congregation Beth Jacob and served as Vice
President on the Board of Directors for San Mateo County Interfaith Hospitality Network.
Maria holds an Associate of Arts degree and has earned a certificate from CompassPoint’s
Institute for Nonprofit Consulting. She has also participated in other professional development
and nonprofit training workshops at CompassPoint, Center for Excellence in Nonprofits, and
Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership of Marin.
